"Lisa Duroux explore des sujets tels que le corps, l'espace et le temporaire. Ses installations sculpturales en apparence inachevées oscillent entre une articulation poétique de l'espace et des paysages abstraits. L'un des motifs centraux du travail est l'interaction entre le corps et son absence.
Il s'agit d'une recherche autour de l'articulation, des ligaments, des mécanismes et de l'artificiel. En utilisant des matériaux de récupération combinés à des formes spécifiques modelées en céramique, Lisa travaille l'articulation d'un corps disloqué, androgyne, désarticulé, dur et doux à la fois.
C'est à partir de matériaux récupérés que l'artiste entame son processus créatif, comme on fabriquerait un Frankenstein. La tension se dessine dans la rencontre des matériaux : cuir, corde, câble, fil néon, sel et céramique ; de cette union naît une nouvelle anatomie. Des parties de corps suspendues au plafond s'étirent jusqu'au sol : ici, une main, là, le solide rembourrage d'un torse, là encore, un genou, ailleurs, un ligament. L'enchevêtrement anthropomorphique de fils électriques, de câbles, de cuir et de matériel technique de sport, trouve un équilibre. Les cordes et les sangles industrielles évoquent un alpiniste harnaché avec soin qui gravirait une montagne dans un mouvement fluide. Les céramiques et les genouillères, quant à elles, nous rappellent à la fragilité du corps. Pour repousser ses limites, il faut du soin et de l'attention.
Avec sa palette de couleurs qui laisse à la lumière le soin de percer entre les formes, les sculptures et installations de Lisa Duroux viennent détourner les matériaux industriels de leur dureté première et nous invitent à considérer l'articulation et les mécaniques d'un corps actuel (dé)connecté de son environnement."

"Lisa Duroux explores subjects like the body, space and temporariness. Her sculptural installations, which at first glance may seem unfinished, are balanced between a poetic articulation of space and abstract landscapes. One of the central motifs of her work is the interaction between the body and its absence. Her research hinges on the notion of articulation, ligaments, mechanisms and artificiality. By using salvaged materials combined with specific shapes made with ceramic, Lisa works on the articulation of a dislocated, androgynous, disarticulated body, at once hard and soft. The artist’s creative process starts with salvaged materials, as if she were giving life to a Frankenstein monster. Tension arises from the combination of materials – leather, rope, cable, neon thread, salt, and ceramic – and from this union comes a new anatomy. Body parts hanging from the ceiling stretch down to the ground: here a hand, there the firm stuffing of a torso; here a knee, and there a ligament. A balance is found in the anthropomorphic tangle of electric wires, cables, leather and sports equipment. The ropes and industrial straps bring to mind a skilfully harnessed mountaineer gracefully climbing up a mountain. The ceramics and kneepads, on the other hand, remind us of the body’s fragility: one needs care and attention in order to push one’s limits. With their range of colours that lets light filter through the shapes, Lisa Duroux’s sculptures and installations steer industrial materials away from their original harshness and invite us to consider the articulation and mechanics of a modern body (dis)connected to/from its environment. In addition to her research in the field of visual arts, Lisa Duroux is also a musician who works mainly with drums and her own voice. She writes texts that she uses as foundations for her songs."
