Give violence a chance

A l’occasion de sa cinquième exposition à la galerie, Stéphane Bérard nous propose de découvrir installations, dessins, et photographies ainsi qu’une sélection de films. Ceux-ci seront projetés chaque samedi à partir de 15h30.

Stéphane Bérard, né en 1966 vit actuellement entre Paris et Lille. Autodidacte touche-à-tout, il créé des oeuvres d’une simplicité matérielle, assumant le ratage, l’échec ou la futilité. Usant d’un recul critique vis-à-vis de sa profession et du milieu de l’art contemporain, assumant sa position d’outsider, l’artiste aime à brouiller les codes jusqu’à buter sur une série d’illogismes et de malentendus.

Parallèlement à l’exposition, des oeuvres de l’artiste sont actuellement visibles à la Villa Arson (Nice) et au CAC de Meymac.

Eva Meyer’s Gallery is delighted to announce the opening of « Give violence a chance » solo exhibition of Stéphane Bérard.

For its fifth presentation at the Gallery, Stéphane Bérard will propose installations, drawings, photos and a selections of his films. These will be shown every Saturday from 15:30.

Stéphane Bérard is born in 1966, he lives and works between Lille and Paris (France).
As a self-taught artist, he created works based on a material simplicity, assuming the failure or the futility. Using a critical distance regarding his profession and the contemporary art world, assuming an outsider’s position, the artist like to scramble the codes until being blocked by a serie of inconsistencies and misunderstandings.

At the same time as the exhibition, works of Stéphane Bérard will be presented at Villa Arson (Nice) and Contemporary Art Center of Meymac (France).
