Appel à candidatures

Le Post-diplôme art consiste en une année de formation de haut niveau pour cinq artistes, de toute nationalité, aux parcours singuliers dans le domaine des arts visuels. Il fait partie des dispositifs d’accompagnement des artistes portés par l’Ensba Lyon depuis 25 ans.

Le Post-diplôme art de l’Ensba Lyon offre à cinq artistes :

• Une bourse de 4800 € ;
• Une résidence disponible dans un appartement collectif sur le site des Subsistances ;
• L’accès à toutes les ressources de l’Ensba Lyon ;
• Un accompagnement sur mesure.

Les artistes sont sélectionnés sur la base d’un projet de recherche qui sera développé durant l’année.

Depuis sa création, en 1999, le Post-diplôme art de l’Ensba Lyon soutient les artistes dans le champ professionnel de l’art contemporain. Vingt-quatre promotions se sont succédées au sein de la résidence.

Chaque session dure l’équivalent d’une année universitaire : d’octobre à juillet.

Modalités d’admission

Le Post-diplôme de l’Ensba Lyon est ouvert à l’international. Toutes les pratiques du domaine des arts visuels y sont les bienvenues : peinture, dessin, photographie, sculpture, installation, vidéo, son, performance…

Il s’adresse à toutes les nationalités, sans condition d’âge, pour cinq artistes, issus d'une formation artistique titulaires d'un DNSEP ou diplôme international équivalent master (sélection sur dossier et entretien). Des dérogations sont possibles : il convient de se rapprocher du Service des études et de la scolarité.

La sélection définitive s’opère sur entretien à l’Ensba Lyon (les entretiens pourront se tenir en distanciel ou en présentiel en fonction de la situation géographique des candidats).

Lors de la sélection, l’attention du jury se porte sur la maturité, la qualité artistique du travail et le potentiel du projet.

Le jury sera constitué de la Directrice par interim de l’Ensba Lyon, de la responsable du Post-diplôme art, d’une/un professeur de l’Ensba Lyon et d’une/un critique d’art/commissaire, engagés sur la scène de l’art contemporain.

Composition du dossier de candidature 

À transmettre en français ou en anglais, en format numérique uniquement, il comprend :

• La fiche de préinscription remplie depuis Taïga, plateforme de l’Ensba Lyon (lien disponible à partir du 22 mars 2024).
• Une lettre de motivation.
• Un CV.
• Une présentation de 4 000 signes maximum présentant l’intention du projet de recherche et son inscription dans la démarche de l’artiste.
• Une documentation relative aux travaux de la candidate ou du candidat, évolution et travaux récents.
• Les photocopies des diplômes obtenus. Les diplômes obtenus à l’étranger doivent être certifiés conformes et traduits par un traducteur assermenté. Dérogation possible.
• La photocopie de la Carte Nationale d’Identité ou du passeport.

Seuls les dossiers complets sont pris en compte.

Calendrier de l’appel à candidatures :

• Appel à candidature et inscription en ligne jusqu'au 17 mai 2024.
• Résultat d’admissibilité : 10 juin 2024.
• Admission : Présélection et entretien avec le jury : 19 et 20 juin 2024.
• Annonce des résultats du jury de sélection : 24 juin 2024.

The Postgraduate Art program consists of a year of high level of training for five artists, from different nationalities, with singular careers in the domain of the visual arts. The Postgraduate Art program is part of the support programs for artists run by the Ensba Lyon for 25 years now.

The Postgraduate Art program of the Ensba Lyon offers the following to five artists:

• A 4800 € grant;
• Accommodation provided in the form of a shared group apartment on the site of the Subsistances;
• Access to all of the resources of the Ensba Lyon;
• A made to measure accompaniment.

Artists are selected on the basis of a research project to be developed over the course of the year.

Since its creation in 1999, the Postgraduate Art program of the Ensba Lyon has been supporting artists in the professional field of contemporary art. Twenty four successive promotions have taken place in the context of the residency

Each session lasts for one academic year: from October to July.

Conditions of admission

The Postgraduate program of the Ensba Lyon is accessible to international candidates. All visual arts practices are welcome, including but not limited to: painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, installation, video, sound, performance…

It is open to all nationalities, irrespective of age, for five artists, art school graduates with a DNSEP (Masters) or equivalent international degree, and the selection process is based on the candidate's portfolio and an interview. Exemptions are possible: you should contact the Department of Student Affairs.

The final selection will be based on an interview with applicants in the Ensba Lyon (interviews can be done at distance or face to face depending on geographical location of candidates).

When selecting candidates, the jury considers the maturity of each artist, the artistic quality of their practice, along with the project’s potential.

The jury will be composed of the interim Director of Ensba Lyon, the Director of the Art Postgraduate program, a teacher from the Ensba Lyon along with an art critic/curator, involved with, and active in, the contemporary art scene.

Composition of application file

To be transmitted in French or English, in a digital format only, consisting of:

• The pre-registration form completed on Taïga, the platform of the Ensba (link available from March 22, 2024)
• A motivation letter.
• A CV.
• A presentation of a maximum of 4000 characters describing the intention of the research project and how it fits with the artist's approach.
• Documents relating to the applicant’s work, development and recent work.
• Photocopies of degrees obtained. Degrees obtained abroad must be certified as conform and translated by a certified translator. Exceptions can be made.
• A photocopy of your National Identity Card or of a passport.

• Call for applications and online registration ending on May 17,2024.
• Qualifying results: June 10, 2024.
• Interviews with preselected applicants: June 19 and 20, 2024.
• Result of the admission’s panel: June 24, 2024
